Contrary to what many people think, most of the curtains can be washed at home, both in the washing machine and by hand, regardless of the type of fabric with which they are manufactured.
Here are some tips to keep your curtains in perfect condition and not have to take them to the cleaners every time you have to wash.
The most usual thing before washing the curtains is brushing them to remove the dust. From Texere we also advise you to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid surprises and to spoil them. Although it is about curtains made with very delicate fabrics, it is best to go to cleaning experts such as dry cleaners to perform dry cleaning.
Most can be washed in the washing machine. The washing of the curtains should be done at a maximum of 30º and a little detergent for delicate fabrics. Before putting them in the washing machine it is advisable to soak them for a couple of hours. If it is a question of curtains made with delicate fabrics, they can be washed at home by hand, with cold or lukewarm water, never in the washing machine. When the curtains are made with synthetic fabrics, cleaning can be done with a sponge with cold water and a little soap.
Once washed, to dry the curtains, you have to hang them when they are not yet completely dry so that they adopt the correct shape and make it easier to iron.
