Contrary to what many people think, most of the curtains can be washed at home, both in the washing machine and by hand, regardless of the type of fabric with which they are made.
Here are some tips to keep your curtains in perfect condition and not have to take them to the dry cleaner every time you have to wash them.
The most common before washing the curtains is to brush them to dust them. From Texere we also recommend following the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid surprises and damage. Although in the case of curtains made with very delicate fabrics, it is best to go to cleaning experts such as dry cleaners to perform dry cleaning.
Most can be washed in the washing machine. The curtains should be washed at a maximum of 30º and a little detergent for delicate fabrics. Before putting them in the washing machine it is advisable to soak them for a couple of hours. If it’s curtains made with delicate fabrics, they can be washed at home by hand, with cold or warm water, never in the washing machine. When the curtains are made of synthetic fabrics, cleaning can be done with the help of a sponge with cold water and a little soap.
Once washed, to dry the curtains, you have to hang them when they are not yet completely dry so that they adopt the correct form and make ironing easier.
